Permit to hold a march

Dear Sir,

We refer to the letter dated 9 December 2010 by Wai Cheng Theng on behalf of the Ministry of Home Affairs informing Singaporeans For Democracy (SFD) that our appeal to hold a march to commemorate International Human Rights Day was unsuccessful.

We are of the opinion that the reasons provided in the letter for denying SFD a permit falls short of the standards exacted by established principles in administrative law.

The reasons in the letter dated 9 December 2010 are vague and puts us the applicant or the party aggrieved, at a disadvantage when appealing the case or in re-designing a fresh march application. Read more »
