Dear Dr Gomez,

Re: Permit to hold a march

I refer to your preceding email. We are unable to accede to your appeal to hold a march for reasons already given in our letter to Mr See dated 9 Dec 2010. Our position on this matter is clear. You are advised to hold your march at the Speakers' Corner instead.

Permit denied for human rights march

(Tessa Wong, Straits Times, 7 Dec 2010)

The police told The Straits Times last night that the application was turned down because of 'law and order considerations'. The police are advising the organiser to hold the event at Speakers' Corner in Hong Lim Park.

The association, registered in February this year, said last night it would appeal against the decision. Read more »
